}} Hiram Ricardo Mier Alanís (born 25 August 1989, in Monterrey, Nuevo León) is a Mexican footballer, who plays as defender for CF Monterrey in Liga MX and for the Selección de fútbol de México (Mexico national team), mainly as a Center Back and alternatively as a Right Back. A gifted and versatile defender, Hiram Mier has a bright future ahead of him in the national side. He was a cornerstone of the side that took gold at the Men’s Olympic Football Tournament at the 2012 London Olympics. Hiram Mier has plenty of top-level experience, having contested the last two editions of the FIFA Club World Cup with Monterrey. He has been a key figure in securing his side’s return to the tournament after winning the CONCACAF Champions League three consecutive times. Originally a Center-back, Mier’s seamless conversion to Right-back has helped strengthen one of the most vulnerable areas of the team and looks set to give him a chance to shine on the international stage.
